Thank you everyone! I was driving down Highway 16 one day and a truck passed me laden with cannon and caissons. I had to follow them and discovered that the little town of Port Gamble had an annual Civil War battle. I grew up in the cradle of the Civil War and never missed a chance growing up to witness the history that unfolded in and around the issues that tore my home state (Missouri) asunder. They do a good job, Port Gamble is a scenic town in its own right and I hope to return this year if possible with a better camera and more time.
Pages to Type is a blog about books, writing and literary culture (with the occasional digression into coffee and the care and feeding of giant robots).
Just been reading your blog and wanted to say how much I enjoy it, looking forward to reading future posts.

ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful pictures. I'm thrilled that you"came across" the reenactment and followed it through.
ReplyDeleteWonderful series of pictures depicting our nations history!
ReplyDeleteThat first one is very moving. The color tone gives it that historic touch. Nice collection of shots (no pun intended).
